Accessibility

We want everyone to be able to use kervalta.io, regardless of how they browse. Accessibility is part of how we judge whether the site is finished, not a box we tick at the end.

Our standard

We build and maintain this site to conform to the Web Content Accessibility Guidelines (WCAG) 2.2, Level AA — the recognized benchmark for accessible web content and the standard referenced by Ontario's accessibility legislation. We treat that as our working target across the site.

What we do

In practice, that means:

• text and background colours meet or exceed the AA contrast ratio for readability;
• the site is built with semantic HTML so it works with screen readers and assistive tools;
• every interactive element is reachable and operable by keyboard, with a visible focus outline;
• images that carry meaning have descriptive alternative text;
• motion is optional — if your device requests reduced motion, the site's animations are turned off and content is simply shown in place; and
• the layout adapts to your screen size and to larger text without breaking or hiding content.

Known limitations

We are not aware of significant accessibility barriers on the site. Accessibility is ongoing, though, and no site is ever perfectly done — if something gets in your way, we would genuinely like to know so we can fix it.
